Creatives Across Sussex Local Authority Partners
Creative Across Sussex was developed by the West Sussex Arts Partnership, which was the local authority arts forum with district and borough councils across West Sussex until March 2013.
The partnership was formalised in 2003 and during its successful ten years of operation facilitated and nurtured projects such as Gravity, Dialog, Poems & Puddings, Blue Umbrella and the County Dance Initiative as well as establishing rural arts schemes such as Movies on the Move and the Making Tracks rural touring programme. It led the Ahead of the Game Cultural Programme for 2012 in West Sussex.
Creatives Across Sussex now provides outsourced delivery to local authorities in arts and cultural services, continuing the work of West Sussex Arts Partnership and expanding to include East Sussex.
By working proactively in partnership with local authority partners, artists, venues, the education sector and regional agencies, it generates new ways of working to build social capital and community benefits through the creation, dissemination of and engagement in creative activities.
Creatives Across Sussex works with local authorities to complement their core services by:
• Offering a resource of specialist skills and expertise in using the arts in strategic delivery
• Helping local authorities to lever funds for the arts and culture which benefit local communities
• Acting as broker and manager for commissioned services
• Hosting and facilitating high profile public events, contributing to the West Sussex visitor economy
• Being a focus for information sharing and partnership development within West and East Sussex
