GREEN TRAVEL IDEAS.......................
If you coming please try an arrive on foot...the event takes place in and around the Cockington Craft Centre, it is only 10 minutes walk from the seafroont through the beautiful water meadows...
There is a new bus service from Torquay Road in Paignton to Cockington that runs on a Sunday – its called the Cockington Clipper Service 50.
You could park at Occombe Farm and carefully walk down (1/2 walk)
IF YOU DO DRIVE......
People need to park in either of the village car parks – either the trust one or the one in the centre of the village. But If they stay out of the valley on the Chelston side there is plenty of parking and a short walk down (5 mins in some cases).
If you park in the village and block access YOU WILL BE TOWED as you will be blocking access for emergency services.
EXTRA EVENTS....
On Thursday 2nd evening at Cockington Court: 6pm-7.30pm we will have an open rehearsal for anyone to come along to sing the three songs from the opening of rock walk, plus one or two new ones. These will be rehearsed for a public performance on the Sunday afternoon at 2.00pm.
On Friday 3rd evening the Trio will lead a public Geotrio walk between 6.00 and 7(ish) setting off from the front of Cockington Court. Join them to help bring to life the great transformations that have shaped the landscape of Cockington and our lives
In May 2010 Geoquest came to the English Riviera, a week of walking, exploring, mapping, and performing in the English Riviera Global Geopark, to celebrate our landscape, history and community - a performance walk from the Valley of the Rocks at Watcombe, Torquay to Berry Head in Brixham.
This event is part of the Geopark Festival 2010. For more on the English Riviera Global Geopark and the Festival - see http://www.englishrivierageopark.org.uk/
