RIGfest

The sound sensation of RIGfest is arriving in Huddersfield!

A FREE fusion of summer family fun and live music awaits the people of Kirklees, when RIGfest comes to Huddersfield for the first time!

Youth Routes will be bringing the area’s best raw talent to perform at one of Huddersfield’s oldest listed parks, Beaumont Park, on Saturday 30th from 1pm.

As well as the music, there will be a bouncy castle, creative activities, and lots of stalls and food, to keep the whole family entertained and all free of charge!

Keen to work with local businesses and make the festival an all age event, organisers have arranged for some fun creative activities the whole family can join in with, while Huddersfield’s very own award winning artisan ice cream maker, Eric Joyce of Vanilla Bean Parlour and Coffee Shop, will be dishing out tasty scoops of the Italian Style dessert! There will be a range of food available on the day to suit all palates and ages, organised by Food Festivals Ltd.

To make this family day out a success, Youth Routes is calling for young people of all ages and interests to get involved and volunteer either by lending their digital media skills by promoting the event of social media or capturing the fun on film and in photos.

The creative festival will feature a variety of music genres, from electronic and folk to rock, grunge and indie to satisfy all music tastes, plus musical and dance workshops so people can try their hand at something new on the day. Unsigned but gifted bands will play a mixture of captivating original songs or well known covers people can sing along to.

With the main stage housed in the bandstand and the acoustic stage on the back of a trailer provided by A.D.D Express, this year’s RIGfest will be a truly awesome event, expanding its previous year’s Sowerby Bridge fan-base and appealing to a much wider audience. It promises to be bigger, better and louder!

The collaborative festival is funded by Kirklees Council, who together with Friends of Beaumont Park and Kirklees Youth Enterprise Centre (KYEC) will support the event, while the festival’s official sponsors are local businesses Creative Analysis and Social Progress.
