In our June Printmaker’s Toolkit Session, join graphic designer Ben Whittington, Design & Print for an insight into how he uses screen printing in his practice. Ben’s work is inspired by music, art and contemporary culture. He has been a member of WYPW for several years and in that time has produced poster work and prints using a variety of experimental techniques. In this session he will talk about how he became involved with print making, the ideas behind his work and his approach to the medium of screen printing.

“Being from a design background the approach to the aesthetic of my prints can vary and I’ll incorporate different styles or techniques to suit the needs of the underlying idea.”

These 1 hour morning sessions will focus on technique, practise and making, and will comprise of practical demonstrations and talks led by practising artists and printmakers. The sessions are intended to encourage, inspire, and generate ideas and conversation about printmaking, so don’t be afraid to ask questions!
