Our Big Gig returns to host hundreds of music events in communities across the nation from 11-13 July.

On Sunday 13th July Bar Maroc will host Huddersfield’s ‘Our Big Gig’ event on the beautiful Bar Maroc terrace from 2pm-6pm, FREE ENTRY!

'Thabo & The Real Deal'
Since they formed Thabo & The Real Deal decided they would ‘make the type of music Bob Marley would listen to if he were still alive today’. This guiding principle sees them tackle political and other conscious themes head on, in a manner that is easy on the ear and stimulating to the mind.

With recent radio support of the band's song 'World War Free' from Radio 1's Zane Lowe big things are looming for this exceptional quartet!

'Big Wave'
Featuring Martin Chung (Electric Guitar) & Marc Leyton Bennet (Electronic Drums)
Fusing numerous genres and world music styles, the duo improvise using electronic instruments looping grooves and melodies to produce layers of textured sound.

The event will begin with an open drum circle lead by Senegalese drummer Ibou Badji. This is your chance to learn some African drumming rhythms and experience being part of an authentic drumming circle! The drumming will start from 2pm and is open to all levels of experience.
