Streaming Across the Sea finale concert filmed in Meltham
The finale of True North Music's Streaming Across the Sea online festival took place on Saturday 10th July. This special double bill concert by two outstanding UK folk-roots bands, Jaywalkers and The Jellyman’s Daughter, was filmed in a high quality, multi-camera set-up (courtesy of Northern Cowboy Films) in local Meltham venue The Carlile Institute. Staged as Covid-securely as possible, with no audience present, the organisers and skilled sound and film crew were the only people in the room with the musicians, but a worldwide audience watched online.

The concert was supported by public funding from Arts Council England Project Grants - and your donations! Donations will help us cover all costs and pay the musicians as fairly as possible, welcome at paypal.me/truenorthmusicuk
The Streaming Across The Sea online festival also featured livestreamed performances from the USA on the Fourth of July, and Zoom workshops in step dance and mandolin. The event was originally planned as True North Music's first ever real-life Yorkshire Americana & Bluegrass day, set to take place at Marsden Mechanics. Organiser Maria Wallace had managed to secure Arts Council funding in early 2020, to help support this. Of course it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, and after postponing for 12 months, True North Music decided to go online instead, amid ongoing safety concerns around indoor events.
