‘Happy is…’ Children’s Charity exhibition

Saturday 3 October – Thursday 5 November

This Autumn in the gallery café, Trestle will be joined by ADD-vance, an organisation dedicated to providing services to those affected by autism. Children and young people who are supported by ADD-vance have been busy creating pieces of artwork in a variety of media, which will form a colourful exhibition based on the theme ‘Happy is…’

Here’s what the coordinator of the exhibition said..

“As we celebrate the 20th year of ADD-vance, we wanted to provide our members with an opportunity to show their children’s talents.

Children affected by ASD and ADHD can often display challenging behaviour, anxiety and low self-esteem. They may struggle with school and social activities, and feel isolated from their peers.

This is why we chose the theme “Happy is..”, to focus on the things that our children love and that make them special.”

ADD-vance:

ADD-vance was founded in 1996 to help provide support to children and adults with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD and their families, as well as professionals and organisations.

We provide a variety of services according to different individual needs: from our phone helpline to support groups, parent/carer courses and family coaching.

All of our members of staff are themselves parents of children with ASD and/or ADHD and can provide our members with their personal experience and insight.
