Three Rivers Museum Rickmansworth

Three Rivers Museum of Local History is situated in Basing House, an 18th century house in Rickmansworth on the site of the home of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania. The Museum tells the story of the social, artistic and business life of the area. In the museum are permanent displays about William Penn and his times, famous buildings such as Moor Park Mansion, The Croxley Great Barn, Grade 2* listed, circa 1398, - Tours take place April to October monthly, see website for details. The Museums latest display is the Leavesden Hospital which has been researched and created by Martin Brooks.
Three Rivers Museum has photographs, exhibits and displays of local areas, Sarratt, Croxley Green, South Oxhey, Chorleywood, and surrounding villages.
Individual and groups visits are welcome, Loan boxes of artefacts and photographs on local history and social life are available for schools, community groups and care homes.
Museum volunteers offer talks to groups.
Publications are available to purchase, titles include; The Great Barn, Rickmansworth a pictorial history, The first 21 years (the museums history).
Opening hours; Monday to Fridays 2pm to 4pm Saturdays 10am to 4pm.
