Jackie Oates

In 2008 Jackie Oates was nominated as best newcomer in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and a swathe of glowing national reviews followed the release of her album, The Violet Hour, which was included on Mojo’s top ten folk albums of 2008.

In 2009 her status as a solo artist was cemented when she won two more BBC Folk Awards: the Horizon Award for Best Newcomer and the Best Traditional Track Award. Jackie is based in the South West and tonight presents music from her latest album, Hyperboreans.
