Masked emotion

Masked emotion

Join St Albans Museums for a talk bringing together three professionals whose work this year has led them to explore the relationship between the arts and wellbeing in Hertfordshire. They will specifically discuss how lockdown, social distancing and masks has impacted creativity and identity.

Panel:

Jordana Peake is a mixed methods researcher with a passion for the Arts. She has been carrying out an evaluation exploring how taking part in arts activities conducted as part of Hertfordshire's Year of Culture has impacted on individuals' wellbeing over the past year.

Helen Barnett is the Creative Director of Trestle Theatre Company based at Trestle Arts Base in St Albans. Trestle are a mask and physical theatre company focussing on education and providing community arts opportunities. Helen will discuss the impact Covid 19 has had on the company’s work and how the arts can play a part in supporting our collective mental health.

Nic Madge is a St Albans based photographer and writer. His ongoing project PANDEMIC PORTRAITS, recording the way in which the people of St Albans are living through the Covid pandemic, will be shown as a multi-media presentation when the St Albans Museum and Gallery re-opens, hopefully on May 17th. He has written on many topics, including social history.
