Vacancy - Visitor Services Manager - St Albans Museums

St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. In short it is a great place to live and work.

St Albans Museum + Gallery is the newest addition to the collection of cultural heritage sites managed by St Albans Museums. It joins Verulamium Museum, the Hypocaust, the medieval Clock Tower, Sopwell Ruins and the thousands of objects in the City’s collection in being cared for and shared with the world.

We are seeking a dynamic Visitor Services Manager. In this post you will directly manage the front of house operations teams across St Albans Museums and ensure the commercial success of the venues operated by the service. You will develop commercial strategies and partnerships to maximise income from all areas of activity including retail, venue hire and programming. You will also develop high quality front of house procedures and policies to train, develop and motivate a team of visitor service professionals. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, have great people management skills and will ensure a high level of customer service for all of our visitors.
