A festival for World Mental Health Day.
Tune in or turn up for our award winning festival of creative radio and film for World Mental Health Day 2012, in collaboration with the Barn Cinema, Dartington.
From 10am- 4pm on Wednesday 10th October, we celebrate this years theme, Unhappiness, with an honest examination of our feelings: are mental health problems the only sane response to an unsane world?
Between midday and 2pm we have an oen studio and open mic session: come along to find out more about commuity radio, and to share a poem, story or song. We're now based at Dartington Space (formerly Lower Close) just down the hill a little way from our old studio. We look forward to seeing you there!
Other highlights of the day include Amelia Marriette's powerful radio drama, Point Blank, at 2pm. We first broadcast this on Sunday 23rd September and were moved by its psychological dilemmas, and examination of the long term effects of fighting in world wars. And at 3pm, improvisation duo Achnn will be broadcasting from France with a live link up.
The Barn Cinema is programming 3 films: Melancholia(15) 8pm Wednesday 10th October, Mary and Max(12) 5pm on Thursday 11th, and Synechdoche New York (15) 5pm, Friday 12th.
