American Poetry - Then and Now

Ever wanted to know more about American poetry? There’s a lot of them out there – Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost. Take a breath – Wallace Stevens, Alan Ginsberg, Sylvia Plath, Mark Doty, Sharon Olds. And, er, Bob Dylan!
Ver Poets invite you to St Michael’s Church Hall in St Albans on Friday November 18 to read your own short American favourite. And hear the work of two of the best up-and-coming American poets based here – Robert Peake and R A Villanueva. The event starts at 8 pm. Tickets £5 include refreshments at half time.
