Ahead for Culture: Championing Cultural Learning in Changing Times
How can leaders at all levels, in all settings, make access to high quality arts and culture a genuine entitlement for all children and young people?

The third annual Royal Opera House Bridge conference will take place on Friday June 12th at Royal Opera House, London. Following hot on the heels of the General Election the theme for this year’s event is Leadership.

News Presenter and Journalist, Kirsty Wark will chair a debate with Munira Mirza, Deputy Mayor of London for Education and Culture, Professor Jonothan Neelands, Associate Dean Creativity, Warwick Business School, and Sir Nick Williams, former Headteacher and education advisor.
The conversation will explore the challenges facing arts and culture during a time of rapid changes in budgets, government and technology – and what schools, cultural organisations and policy makers can do in response.
Camila Batmanghelidjh, CBE will share from her wealth of leadership experience on why access to art is so important for young people and what is at stake if we get it wrong.
Leadership in all of its forms will be challenged and dissected in a series of provocations including, amongst others: Nii Sackey, Founder of Bigga Fish and Sir Anthony Seldon, Master of Wellington College, contemporary historian and political author.

Alongside thought provoking speakers, the day will provide plenty of opportunities for interaction and debate through a carefully curated series of workshops and activities. Workshops feature leaders from schools, NPOs and cultural organisations across the region. They will provide an opportunity to celebrate achievements, share learning and foster new collaborations.
