'LIFE EXPECTANCY' CONTEMPORARY SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
An exhibition of Contemporary Sculpture is soon to be taking place at Cockington Court, Torquay.
'Phil Dixon’s work explores kinetic movement in art, often by using electric motors, activated by the viewer either consciously through switches, or unconsciously through sensing devices. Some recent work has harnessed natural energy resources to power the sculptures, or relied upon the viewer to power it manually. The materials used to create these sculptures encompass a broad spectrum and include metals such as aluminium and steel.
Some sculptures have been designed to draw the viewer into a particular emotion. Other pieces have looked closer at mankind’s relationship with our environment in attempt to clarify to Dixon, his own place in this environment.'
The exhibition is from 17th July-13th August
Open daily from 10 a.m
