Pottery Workshop - Hare

Following the success of our first pottery workshop in January 2024, we are pleased to say that we will be holding more workshops over the coming months.

You don’t have to be a member of the Society to come along to the monthly workshops – they are open to everyone over 18.

They will be held over two Mondays from 5pm – 7pm each day (unless otherwise stated)

These workshops are aimed at beginners and those with some experience who would like a refresher on how to use the tools, glazes etc. At the first session of each workshop, you will learn how to roll out clay, slab making and using cutters and tools which are provided. Choice of design and shape is up to you.

After two weeks, once the piece you have created has dried and been bisque fired you will return to complete by painting and glazing your creation. The piece will then be glaze fired in our kiln. We will contact you when your work is ready for collection.

The charge is £25.00 for each place. If you are unable to come to the workshop your money will be held over for you to come to another workshop. Please contact us on info.stevenageartsociety@gmail.com to book your place.

The clay, glazing, tools and kiln firing are included in the cost. Also, aprons will be provided to hopefully keep your clothing clean – remember clay is mucky so don’t wear your best outfit!!
