Planet Munch Puppets - Opportunities for Dacorum Schools

The Planet Munch team is excited to announce that workshops and performances are now available for booking at schools and venues in Dacorum.

Our show features life-size puppets, an original soundtrack, and plenty of audience participation. "Planet Munch" is a delightful fusion of playful musical theatre, delivering a healthy message about eating well, friendship, and love at its core.

"PLANET MUNCH" is highly suitable for curriculum-based expressive arts, science, and PSHE activities at foundation and Key Stages 1 and 2. The show's themes align directly with national programs promoting healthy eating, wellbeing, and active lifestyles.

These performances and accompanying workshops are generously supported by Dacorum Borough Council and Arts Council England.

Schools can opt for workshops in various art forms inspired by the show's content. They can work with artists experienced in:

Puppetry
Puppet making
Bhangra dance
Drama
Creative writing
Circus skills
Physical theatre

We've received positive feedback from school audiences following our recent countywide tour of libraries and schools in Hertfordshire, and our puppets are eager to engage with more schools.

If you're interested in working with us, please email kerry@nysa.co.uk.

Here's some feedback from recent shows at Hertfordshire Libraries:

"This was a wonderful opportunity for children to experience a high-quality performance and to get up close to the action. With a brightly colored stage set and beautiful puppets imbued with character, the audience follows Brocc on his journey to fulfill his dream of becoming a performer."
"So fantastic to watch, so colorful, funny, clever, and the puppets were beautiful—so pleased we came to watch—more please!"

The Story So Far...

Planet Munch Puppets came to life in South Oxhey as part of the Planet Munch Healthy Lifestyle Programme in partnership with the GOSH Institute of Child Health. Nysa Projects were tasked with translating nutritional science into a series of educational sessions to help support families with children under 5 to lead healthier lifestyles.

Nysa collaborated to create a learning environment with a bespoke soundtrack, beautiful scenic backdrops, and a set of character puppets. These artistic components were woven into the story and fantasy world that is Planet Munch, co-created with families attending 24 creative learning sessions filled with healthy nutrition, art, music, and dancing.
