Unprecedented Events Performer Call Out
Northern Quarter are looking for musicians and performers for their next season of Unprecedented Events in November & December 2021 and January 2022.
They are looking for solo acts, duets or trios to perform either one or two 45-minute sets. They want to hear from anyone with talent- singers, actors, performance artists, woodwind, brass, bongos, name it! Because of the unique format of the events, we’re particularly interested in visually intriguing, or digitally experimental performances.
Your performance will be filmed by the Northern Quarter in-house film crew, and then projected in 4k on a 150’’ screen, 2 weeks later, to a socially distanced audience in the historically important grassroots music venue. If selected, you will be contacted to arrange a filming date on a Tuesday.
Northern Quarter would love to work with artists local to Huddersfield and surrounding areas, but welcome applications from further afield too.
As a safe and inclusive space, Northern Quarter actively encourages applications from performers of any cultural background; people of colour, womxn/trans/non-binary performers, performers with disabilities, LGBTQ+ performers, etc. Everyone is welcome to apply.
The fee for this work is £150 per person (so a duet would receive £300 total, a trio would receive £450).
As this is a freelance job, artists should be responsible for their own tax and National Insurance contributions.
To apply, fill out both the application form here: https://forms.gle/aBKWEcko6hAUFTgs9
And also the diversity monitoring form here: https://forms.gle/7vpFfv9TpvaUy7ZJA
The deadline is 12 noon on Tuesday 12th October.
