Storm in a Teacup

One of a series of paintings from my 2015 exhibition, Through a Looking Glass, to feature 'that Alice girl.' A playful title with surreal fish dancing through the waves coupled to an iconic teacup branded with the Union Jack and a distant skyline filled with London landmarks - this painting is both playfully whimsical and an intensely personal expression of the hopes and anxieties I share with other immigrants and outsiders approaching the great British dream.
