Eclipse
Eclipse is a group of woven tapestry moths a new piece of work in my collection of pollinators who are overlooked or disliked series.
The collective name for a group of moths is an eclipse. My garden moths were inspired by the dislike moths can receive and a Small Magpie Moth which visited my garden last year. It got me thinking, magpies like collecting things what if the magpie moth collected the colours or patterns of our garden butterflies, would we like the moths more?
Woven in waste wools, cottons and linens Eclipse is - Small Magpie Moth, Orange Tip, Marbled White, Comma, Gatekeeper, Common Blue, Holly Blue, Red Admiral and Peacock.
Eclipse is in exhibition at The Wynd Gallery in 'Quietly Connected' until Sunday 29th October 2023
