Louise Le Boutillier Mezzo Soprano and Singing Teacher

Louise Le Boutillier read Music at The University of York then studied for a Masters in Singing at Trinity College of Music with Linda Hirst and Robert Aldwinkle (with scholarships from the John Wates, Elsie Skellern, Morden and Kathleen Trusts). She completed her MMus in 2008. Since graduating, Louise has continued her studies with Brighton-based soprano Paula Anglin.

Before moving out of London, Louise was a regular member of the solo quartet at St Mary Abbots Church Kensington, and performed as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem with period orchestra at the church. Other oratorio appearances include Jephtha (Handel) with the Thomas Tallis Society, In the Beginning (Copland) with The King William Singers, and Dream of Gerontius (Elgar) with Worksop Choral Society.

In Opera, Louise has appeared at The Grange Park Opera Festival, Opera Holland Park, L'Opera Comique (Paris) and Grand Theatre Luxembourg. Louise has performed the roles of Idamante in Mozart's "Idomeneo" (Hampstead Garden Opera), Mrs Maclean in Floyd's "Susannah" (HGO), and Mrs Olsen in Weill's "Street Scene" (Greenwich Opera Project) .She is also a member of the Monteverdi Choir singing in concerts conducted by John Eliot Gardiner thoughout the UK and Europe.

As a teacher, Louise specialises in teaching singing technique to children aged 7-11, but is also experienced in preparing children aged 7-18 for grade exams, both with ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall.

Louise lives with her husband Richard and baby Jamie in Angmering, West Sussex.
