Louise Townsend Touring Productions

Townsend Touring Productions is a small collaboration of artists that have come together to create live theatre of the highest possible artistic standard for audiences in theatre venues that is genuinely accessible and relevant, innovative, imaginative, challenging and that entertains with integrity and humour. We aim present touring theatre to audiences who are not within easy reach of theatre centres, or to those who are not normally theatre goers in non-theatre venues, such as village halls, community centres, youth clubs, schools, working men's clubs, Trades Union conferences and galas. We have also formed links with Trades Unions and artistic and educational organisations that represent the disadvantaged in society to produce work that explores themes and issues of special interest to those who feel they are disadvantaged, that still remains accessible to a wider audience.

Company Aims

•To create live theatre of the highest possible artistic standard for audiences in theatre venues that is genuinely accessible and relevant, innovative, imaginative, challenging and entertains with integrity and humour.
•To present touring theatre to audiences who are not within easy reach of theatre centres, or to those who are not normally theatre goers in non-theatre venues, such as village halls, community centres, youth clubs, schools, working men's clubs, Trades Union conferences and galas.
•To use drama and education follow up to understand and explore contemporary, social and historical issues and open channels of participation in our stage and education work by raising awareness and provoking debate.
•To challenge racism, sexism and other forms of prejudice through our performances and working methods, and through highlighting the effects of prejudice and oppression equip participants with skills and commitment to participate in society.
•To form effective links with Trades Unions and artistic and educational organisations that represent the disadvantaged in society and explore themes and issues of special interest to those who feel they are disadvantaged, whilst remaining accessible to a wider audienc
•To maintain and develop a commitment to the commissioning of new work.

Our next production is called 'United We Stand' and starts touring in the Autumn 19th September . Previews at The Espinosa Arts Centre, Berkhamsted before opening in LIverpool 25th September 2014.
