Folkstock Festival Folkstock Festival

Folkstock Acoustic Festival was borne out of a desire to showcase as many strands of acoustic, folk and roots music in one joyous event on the autumn equinox, which is September 21st 2013.
Folkstock Acoustic Festival will be an affordable, family friendly festival with a fete feel, incorporating two main stages and two tented stages of acoustic folk and roots music. It will have BBC award winning performers alongside emerging local acts as well as performing arts, ceilidhs, morris dancing, poetry and plays in a friendly supportive environment.
There will be an array of gorgeous music, delicious food, crafty stalls, community interest groups, dancing, singing and drinking ! Childrens’ soft play zone and a video tent mean that you can keep an eye on your charges while indulging your musical tastes.
The two main stages will incorporate a range of acoustic, folk and roots music, with the Main Stage being for more traditional folk performers and the other being for Alternative Folk, which means they are slightly more cross genre and versions of folkish performances incorporating rock, pop, electronic and contemporary influences.
“The Village Green” offers a wealth of more fete like activies and provides opportunity for seated appreciation of acoustic solo acts and poetry readings and plays, while enjoying some tea and cake from the Tea Tent, a child and family friendly zone, with the bar in striking distance !
A lively Music and Merriment Stage will host groups of ukulele, fiddle and double bass weilding bands and then browse around the craft stalls and specialist food areas while watching the Morris Dancing and Ceilidh on theVillage Green. Artists are also coming from all over the UK, Ireland, America and Denmark to perform at the event.
Come and join us and have some good clean fun ! Coverage in the Welwyn Hatfield Times 22/05/13
