EMVA- Fashion Lecture Series

The EM-VA team welcomed two guest speakers to the University of Huddersfield for our Lecture Series event on Thursday 9th October. Over 150 students, lecturers and other University members turned out for the events and fashion based talks.

The first guest speaker was antiques, collectables and fashion expert Tracy Martin. Tracy is well known for her appearances on popular TV shows such as ITV’s this morning and Storage Hoarders as well as a host of other TV and radio shows. Tracy talked about collectable names and designers in woman’s fashion and discusses the social history around this area.

Josef Jammerbund was the second speaker of the night. His role is Head of Events at the British fashion council. Josef spoke about his past work as a runner, assistant producer and events director at Jackie Cooper public relations. He then moved on to talk about current role as Head of Events at the British fashion. It was really great to listen to all the interesting events that he was involved in, such as London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards.

The event itself was fantastic and it was great to see so many students and members of staff turn out for out event and are already planning the next one. Keep an eye out for who the next speakers will be!
