Earthworks is a small, award-winning local charity nurturing people with learning disabilities – known as Earthworkers – to reach their full potential.
Earthworkers, volunteers and staff work and learn together through Social and Therapeutic Horticulture to manage 3.5 acres of eco-gardens in Hixberry Lane, St Albans with a focus on sustainability, organic growing and traditional countryside skills.
Earthworks’ revolutionary pilot project, Earthworks on Wheels, sees Earthworkers travelling into the community to use their horticulture skills to care for gardens of vulnerable people.
