TIMES OF TRANQUILLITY Exhibition by local artist Diana Davydova

Occasionally a painting does not characterize an idea or concept and therefore sometimes it is not about the subject matter or the visual image. Such paintings are not defined by what you see or understand, they are about the impressions of the artist and frequently their state of mind at a particular moment. These works are intended to invoke an emotional response and stir the memories that the audience have experienced when they are alone and surveying the natural world around them. The main concept in producing these works was an attempt to summon a feeling of tranquillity in those that observed each work individually.
