GLORIOUS SOUTH DEVON by David Blakeley
SUNRISE - FLOW POINT, TEIGN ESTUARY, BISHOPSTEIGNTON - Taken on Saturday 10th March 2012 @ 6.49 am. The weather forecast was not great, cloudy skies and a strong breeze. I took a chance and packed my kit, leaving the house at 5.30am. I quick drive over the Shaldon Bridge to Bishopsteignton and then a walk in the dark down Flow Lane and on to Flow Point. There is a large house there and a private nature reserve. On a high tide the reserve floods, so you have to be careful not to get caught out.
As dawn approached I could see patches of clear sky and nice cloud formations at the mouth of the Teign Estuary. I spent some time looking for the correct spot to shoot and then waitied for the sun to rise and light up the promising sky. The scene was stunning, but missing a little something and then from the left hand side of the camera three swans swam into shot. Just perfect.
