The Gallery, Dartington Campus: Installation by Duncan MacAskill

Together with third-year writing student Edward Klein, the artist Duncan MacAskill will be recreating an installation he first made in 2005 in the PetriKappelle in Brandenburgh, Germany. The theme of the exhibition is Wittgenstein's seventh proposition from his Tractatus "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must pass over in silence". This recreation forms part of Edward's Contextual Enquiry Project where has been exploring the past - his own journeys and those of others - and of some of those moments that have been passed over in silence. He will be giving a presentation and performance lecture on Monday
8 December at 6pm.
Duncan MacAskill was trained in Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art. Although a painter he has collaborated in other disciplines. With Laurie Booth in "Wonderlawn","Tango", BBC Dancelines and a piece about Maya Deren at the Zap Club. Bankside Browser at Tate Modern was a Mail-Art piece. Designed "Per Gynt" by Ibsen at the Citizens' Theatre,Gorbals. A collaboration with Cryptic Theatre about Elizabeth Smart,"each ...and every inch" at CCA in Glasgow. With Martin Duncan in "A Cow .A Mooon. A full Stop" a 3 day event at the Now Festival,Nottingham.
