Cultural Conversation Open Space

Cultural Conversation invites those of you who have an interest in and care about the cultural activity of Torbay.

Over the past few years we have held many events, meetings and workshops which details of which can be found below in our archved events.

OPEN SPACE 17th OCTOBER 2012

The next event and perhaps most important one so far is the Open Space event on October 17th 2012. This event is being coordinated in partnerhsip with the Arts Council.

Originally 150 tickets were released, they were quickly snapped up so an extra 50 were released. These have now gone too and unfortunaletly we cant accomadate any more people on the day. However if you dont have a ticket dont worry you can still be part of the conversation.

If you have a project/idea you'd like to work up, why not find someone who is going to Open Space and see if they would like to partner with you and air it at the event? or add you thoughts to the comments section under the event HERE

Finally we will be posting news items from the event which will give you a flavour of what was talked about and how you can interact and join the conversation which will be ongoing.

History

Similar events like this have been held in the past namely ArtsBase and more recently TorbayCAN. From both these groups we’ve realised the importance of bringing like-minded individuals and organisations together where we can discuss what you’re up to, we can tell you what we’re up to and we can all say what we’re not up to but what we ought to be doing.

We’ve got to write our next Arts Strategy document 2012-2020 so instead of sitting in our office for 4 months and doing it we thought we’d create this cultural conversation platform for us to meet, support, encourage, challenge, lead, be led and float ideas about all of which will feed into our strategy document.

Each conversation meeting will invite a guest speaker to talk and provide valuable information that we can talk about and enable us to us to put visions into action
The information will then be put up on this profile as a News item (along with any presentation notes) for you to comment on and continue the conversation.

On December 8th we held our first conversation event around audience segmentation in Torbay. The slides and notes from this presentation can be downloaded via the news item listed below
