The Evening Offer - 'Commons, Architects and Community Activism'

Are the Commons relevant to architects? - Dr Ioanni Delsante, will host an interactive session on The Commons, Architects, and Community Activism. This follows-on from the successful exhibition in Temporary Contemporary in March.

Dr Ioanni Delsante is Reader in Urban Design, School of Art, Design & Architecture at the University of Huddersfield / University of Pavia .

Common-ing actions and practices are increasingly taking place in towns and cities all around the world. They usually unfold via self-constituted groups or communities who act through a variety of tactics including spontaneous interventions and un-solicited actions. What can architects learn from these on-going actions and their impact on cities? And how could we better shape architects’ education and skillsets to allow them to learn from and contribute to the emergence of these spaces?

The Evening Offer (and the daytime 'The Offer') are a response to the context of Coronavirus and the impact it is having on our society, and not least on the creative and cultural community. It is a space for anyone involved in or interested in a cultural response to the climate and ecological emergency to gather, to question, to share, and to support each other.

These events will be happening every Wednesday, initially during April. The Offer at 11am for conversation-based sessions and The Evening Offer at 7.30pm for creative and regenerative sessions .
