Harish Shankar conducts Ulvi Cemal Erkin’s rip-roaring Köçekçe Suite, Sibelius' gigantic Symphony No. 7, and the world premiere of a new concerto for sitar and orchestra composed by award-winning sitarist Jasdeep Singh Degun. Arya brings the might of the Orchestra of Opera North up against the explosive improvisatory power of traditional Indian music.
