Promotions Officer, Wakefield Council (Light Up Festival)

Wakefield Council are looking to recruit a freelance Promotions Officer to support the delivery of marketing and promotional activity for the Light Up festival taking place at the end of November. The role is part time (3 days a week) and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

We are anticipating the consultant will work on average 12 days per month for a 2 month period. This is estimated to be at least 24 days in total.

Rate of pay will be made between £200 and £250 per day subject to experience and expertise and for a maximum of £6,000 plus agreed expenses. The consultant will be responsible for their own Tax and NI contributions. Some travel fees and incidental costs will also be offered.

The main duties of the post are:

Develop integrated multi-channel communications campaigns including social media plans, advertising and collateral (programmes, flyers, posters, promotional items, signage, etc)
Produce innovative digital approaches and content and lead on the day to day management of digital platforms eg Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram to ensure that content in updated regularly, increases engagement with users and respond to any online comments or enquiries
Manage paid social media activity including setting up adverts, monitoring and evaluation
Ensure events are listed on relevant external websites including local, regional and national events listings (eg Welcome to Yorkshire, blogs, groups etc)
Support PR activity including press trips as required
Liaise with the Festival and Events team to ensure onsite signage and collateral maximises promotional opportunities across Council events and venues
Liaise with the Communications team for the development of press releases
Monitor quality, progress and results of marketing activity through development of evaluation reports, ensuring activity is delivered accurately and effectively
Manage photography and video commissions including producing briefs, liaising with suppliers and collating content and consent forms
