Musicians, venues, have your say with the KIRKLEES MUSIC SURVEY

Are you a musician, composer, promoter, producer, choir, band…or are involved in music in Kirklees?

We really appreciate your time to share information about what you do and where you perform. The information provided will help to build a picture of the size and scale of music in Kirklees, and what challenges musicians and those working with music face.

All the information provided will be collated by external researcher Fiona Harvey who is working on behalf of the Music Education Hub and the Creative Economy Team. Your answers will sit alongside information provided by festival organisers and research on music education in the district.

Further to this we are exploring how we approach an audit of music infrastructure in the district. The aim of this will look at “dedicated” venues, other venues with “dedicated music rooms”, broader venues where music is performed, recording studios and rehearsal studios etc. The work will also look to understand what are the infrastructure issues that limits the district’s ability to deliver/support music within the next 3, 5 and maybe 10 years.
