Launch of Creative Kirklees at Huddersfield Train station
Flash mob dancers, musicians and a poet took to the platforms of Huddersfield Train station to showcase the talent of Creative Kirklees on Friday 30 May. The entertainment was to mark the launch of the Creative Kirklees website and creative hub and to encourage onlookers to check out the website for similar events and activities.
Creative talent was on show from Dead Mans Uke, a stompin Ukulele and Bass Duo, and Leo Brazil and his Twitch who played alongside trumpeter Nick Batty in a fusion acoustic combo. Also performing were Savvy & The Savoir-Faire - a rapper and producer accompanied by percussionist Ollie Reavell and Adam Ward on acoustic guitar. All the way from the Canadian prairies came writer and performing poet Rose Condo, an enchanting wordsmith who now makes her home in Kirklees. The surprise was topped off by a flash mob of 2nd year Kirklees College students from the School of Performing Arts.
