Funding for Kirklees Voluntary Groups

Funding for Kirklees Voluntary Groups

One Community, the Kirklees Community Foundation, has two new funds which are now open to applications.

The Thornton Family Fund
The Fund is able to support voluntary and community groups working throughout the HD post codes of Kirklees, for a wide range of charitable purposes.
Funding areas: HD1, HD2, HD3, HD4, HD5, HD7, HD8, HD9

The fund offers grants up to £3,000; and will in exceptional circumstances, make funding awards in excess of £3,000. Support will also be considered from applicants seeking a multi-year grant award, for up to 3 years. Deadline for applications: Tuesday 8 November

Comic Relief (Kirklees Local Communities Programme)
Kirklees based voluntary organisations are invited to apply for funding grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 from Comic Relief. The local communities programme is now open to applications, and these must be received before the closing date of Monday 31 October. (Please note that historically, we have awarded 3 grants of approximately £3,000 to Kirklees groups).

Projects should be run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with and priority will be given to small, locally based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs in their community.

The Foundation is working in partnership with Comic Relief to distribute this funding across Kirklees. Funding applications must be made on-line and amount to at least 30% of the total project cost.
