A New Linocut Print: Tenby Lugger - 'Heritage'
‘Heritage’ is the first Tenby lugger to be built in over 100 years. She was built to an original 1900 design, using traditional methods and materials. The hull was partly built by students at the MITEC boatbuilding school, the caulking, masts and rigging completed by volunteer members of the West Wales Maritime Heritage Society.
I made this original two-block linocut print to celebrate the completion of the project in August 2018.
The formal naming ceremony was carried out in Tenby Harbour on 25th August 2018 and ‘Heritage’ is now moored in the Pembroke Dock Maritime Museum, where hand-made copies of this print will be on sale for the benefit of the Society.
Museum opening hours - 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, from Easter to the end of October.
