Captain Relaxo is the recording project of principal songwriter Steve Asplin. Writing and recording music covering a wide range of genres.
As of October 2024, there have been 6 EP releases through streaming platforms and on bandcamp.
Originating in New Zealand as a four piece progressive alternative band that played dark pop music in 2000, the band was on hiatus as members traveled and pursued other projects. During Covid lockdown in 2020, and as members spanned multiple continents and hemispheres, the group reformed to record music as a respite from lockdown.
After leaving Ukraine in 2022 Steve Asplin settled in Apsley and is writing and recording music with various performers globally.
