Breakaway Theatre Company present Anya Reiss’ updated version of Chekhov’s 1898 play, being performed on 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th February 2017 at The Maltings Theatre, St Albans, AL1 3HL.

A rundown farmhouse in the country and its embittered inhabitants; barely keeping the farm afloat. This uneasy peace is shattered when the farm’s owner, a once respected academic, and his new wife return. Old wounds are reopened, new scars are created and the dying embers of ambition flare back up.
