Making honey while the sun shines

From time to time when life calms down
And peace o’ercomes my hopes and fears,
I find myself adrift in a pool of love
Where ne'er a sound distracts my ears
And in that wide place of wondrous calm
While I listen for my heart’s desire to call
My flat smooth pool stretched all around
Echoes to the splash of a pebble fall
And as the ripples sweep me off
I strain my head to turn and see
Who dared to throw that pebble in
Only to find that it was me
