Finding Chapters brings together two Hertfordshire artists, Anji Archer and Jo Howe, in an exploration of human connection. Both artists have similar approaches to their practice, with auto responsive and undefined intention that leads to emotive and expressive mark making and thought provoking narratives.
For the first time, these artists have come together to show their work, exploring the similarities and differences this work process produces.

As part of this exhibition, Jo and Anji have also created a collaborative artwork utilising Instagram as a point of contact, sharing and publishing. They are exploring how to utilise this chosen platform, to develop a dialogue that encourages deeper reflection, real-time and emphatic interaction.

Each day the artists take it in turn to create work on the same image the artist has posted the day before. Their response encompasses their emotional state at the time of creation; this a key element in both artists approach. This work grows over this time, evidence of marks made, feelings felt and time available.
It is a challenge of trust, honour, empathy and relinquishing control.
